theshinenz
Hi there, I am looking at purchasing the px5s for take overseas for my sisters wedding. Its lightweight and would be perfect to save on freight cost. However Ive been keeping an eye on youtube hoping some demos would come up of the sounds I need. I am happy with the piano an ep sounds. However as a previous Kronos/Kurzweil PC3 owner I would really love to hear some demos of some string sections, brass sections, and a decent demo of someone who has programmed a good hammond b3 / leslie sound. If I could get away with using the px5s that would be awesome, maybe some of you are already programmig these types of stage settings for gigging? I have also yet to find a tone list pdf anywhere, if one exists could someone send me a link? RegardsScott
Display Name
Hi Scott and welcome to the Casio Forums! Glad you found us.Here are some demos of Stage Settings I made with some nice strings and pads: (Strings start at 1min 50sec) and....(Strings start at 45sec.) Here's a demo of one of the brass sections:https://soundcloud.com/casio-px-5s/3oct-brass-casio-px5s-demo-byYou can hear some demos of the other preset stage setting here:https://soundcloud.com/casio-px-5sHere is a link to the Tutorial Manual which contains the tone list (starts on page E-42):http://support.casio.com/pdf/008/Web_PX5S-E-2B_EN.pdfDepending on how you set it up, the tones can be combined 4-14 tones deep to make some really rich sounds. Also, the look of the PX-5S is PERFECT for weddings.. the clean lines and black and white is simply elegant. You will also get plenty of help learning your PX-5S here and in the Facebook Group (link in my sig below, feel free to join even if you don't have your PX-5S yet.)Let me know if you have any more questions! theshinenz
Thanks Brad, just what I was after, I think it will do the job....are there any samples on board for SFZ Brass and/or Brass falls? CheersScott
theshinenz
One other thing Id be interested to hear, strange request but if there any decent flute or bagpipe sounds on board? I also heard casio may be updating some of the onboard samples? Is that a rumour or is it actually happening? CheersScott
Display Name
There is a brass falls stage setting in the download section of this site:http://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/files/file/119-brass-falls-velocity/There are some nice flutes and bagpipes in the TONE section. What you do is combine the tone(s) and effects, arpeggitors, etc. to customize it just how you want it and save it as a Stage Setting. I have not heard anything about samples being updated - I would imagine this could cause some problems with the say the existing stage settings sound... However, new Stage Settings are being made all the time. With all the existing tones and the way you layer and process them, the PX-5S is very powerful as-is.
