Display Name
They haven't announced anything so I am guessing nothing is official yet.To answer your other question: The job is based in New Jersey at their US headquarters, so someone from outside the country would have to obtain work authorization (usually a long process) and be willing to relocate.

Null
Cumbria? Isn't that where Royston Vasey is located? (/me sits back and waits to see who gets the League of Gentlemen reference?) As for living and working in New Jersey? I think I'd rather slit my eyelids with a dull razor I drove down the Jersey coastline 20 years ago going from Montreal to Florida. Nothing but chemical plants and toxic wasteland for a hundred and fifty mile stretch Gary

Nothing but chemical plants and toxic wasteland for a hundred and fifty mile stretch Gary I had a friend in college from New Jersey. He used to say "we put all the $#!^ along the highway so no one wants to move there!" Actually, once you get away from that and Newark, NJ can be very pretty. I still make fun of the state, though.
BrianH
Nice pics Hugh. When I lived in UK I spent a lot of time in the Lake District. It is one of the few places I have been where it still looks nice when it is raining (which is fortunate, as you have plenty of opportunity to observe this phenomenon) BrianH
Hugh O Kelly
Well BrianH,you are of course right....it does rain here, and yes it is lovely 'even when its raining' I can't get over how nice the people here are. It rains even more in Ireland........What's the north of France like?...a bit similar but warmer? For those of you who have not been to Switzerland or Austria ....the scenery will take you breath away, literally.

BrianH
Hi Hugh, I actually live in Southern Brittany on the Quiberon Peninsula. We get 2200 + hours of sunshine yearly, not much rain, but can be very windy at times. I am the only resident Anglais in the area - but the locals are very friendly and helpful. I think they like having a tame eccentric Anglais - I start sea swimming in March and go on until end of November. They rarely risk it before July and therefore think I'm mad. Good luck with the demonstrators gig!!! With the pictures in words painted by the other contributors above of the NJ area I would sit tight were you are. BrianH PS I tried to post a couple of pictures - but they were not allowed on the forum. What picture types are allowed?

A lot of those comments were just busting chops -- NJ isn't THAT bad. I think I live in the worst state -- Florida. It's known as America's basement. It's damp and moldy. There are all kinds of weird bugs down here. It's where we keep all the old people and nut jobs. Just like a real basement.
Jokeyman123
Hey watch that crack about old people! I can still throw a pretty mean bottle of Geritol! And living near Dover, NJ being able to visit Casio headquarters about 30 miles away (but in PA now and having spent most of my life in NJ) I would take offense about NJ if it were not for 1) high property taxes 2) high insurance costs 3) flooding in many areas where there didn't used to be any 4) an overabundance of shopping malls and highways 5) gridlock traffic again in many areas where there wasn't any and 6) housing prices only a rich person can afford. Other than that, it was very nice! There are some pretty areas in Sussex County and way south by the Pineys (Pine Barrens) near Wharton State Forest, but most of the former farmlands that were so beautiful are being gobbled up by developers everywhere. The other very positive-there is a very alive and well performing music scene still exisiting around Ocean County, Asbury Park is being renovated and there are many clubs throughout that area that still book live bands regularly small and large. And in Pennsylvania 50 miles from me, Bethlehem is growing, being renovated and has some pretty interesting live music venues growing-especially since the casinos are doing well there, and taking over Atalantic City business. I forgot, what was this post about (old people CRS). News report over!

florent
I actually live in Southern Brittany on the Quiberon Peninsula. Hi Brian, That's funny, I live in Lorient and used to go a lot to Quiberon to practice Kitebuggy (I was part of the sandyatching club in Plouharnel). I don't practice much nowadays, but I was there with my friends on saturday (first time in 18 month).
