  3. This type of cable is notoriously bad-I'm surprised it worked at all for you, even in older Windows OS. I had several that gave me nothing but trouble, being somewhat adept electronically, I opened each one to troubleshoot. One of them was missing the key IC used for devices like this-it wasn't there, period, just blank solder points. Another had one of the red cables completely disconnected, not even soldered at all. These have almost no buffer memory, probably substandard midi communication IC inside. I suspect....just a guess..that because these cables perform at best marginally with older/slower operating systems, when you bump to Windows 10/11 which provide (theoretically) faster throughput in all of their ports-these midi cables just can't handle it, and of course Windows 10 might not even recognize what this cable is! Windows 10 very often does not provide backward compatibility for many things, especially drivers. But again, my first suspicion as Brad said, is that cable. I threw mine out, and got better quality midi/usb cables. No more problems.
  4. Been working the synth controls, amazing ambient sounds. The reverb is huge
  5. SOLVED: I'm replying to my own post to save a future me the trouble. MSB and LSB in the CT-S500 user guide correspond to the Finale patch settings for Bank Select 0 and Bank Select 32 as expected, but you have to add 1 to the program change, i.e.: program change in Finale is 25 for the Vst Nylon Gt, not the 24 is shows in the user guide.
  6. In Finale (a music notation and playback PC program), it's possible to have it play the score by sending the MIDI signals directly to the keyboard, and then the keyboard is playing the score using its own sounds. It is definitely possible to have it play Casio tones, not just general midi tones, and this becomes really cool when playing with the versatile tones. But I can't get it to work! Does anyone know how to translate the 3 columns in the CT-S500 user guide under Tone List: "Bank Select MSB" , "Bank Select LSB" and "Program Change" into the Patch Select window in Finale, which has the options: "Bank Select 0", "Bank Select 32", and "Program Change"? I have already tried the obvious, for example for this tone which is the versatile nylon guitar, I have done this in the Finale Patch Selector menu. But that plays tone 660: GM Bandoneon (which is almost like the thing is laughing at me 😅😖) I'm pulling my hair out over this one - any help would be so appreciated!!

  8. It is 16 part multi timbral regardless of wether Port A or Port C is selected as the "MIDI In 1-5Ch Port". As the display name suggests, the only thing Port A is doing is rerouting channels 1 through 5 to port A. Port C continues to be used for channels 6 through 16.
  9. Here is how the system works and what is possible. The keyboard has memory for 1 sampled drum tone and 1 sampled melody tone at a time. Sampled tones can be backed up to a USB flash drive, where you can store any number of sampled tones. Any tones stored on a flash drive must be loaded using the media load menu before using. Also note, the drum tone can contain a maximum of 16 different samples. Plus, a sampled drum tone can be created from a preset drum kit as the base, where your choice of keys in the preset kit can be replaced with your own samples. This allows combining factory drum samples with your own.
  10. first 3 channels are the 3 main keyboard performance, and channel 4-16 can be adressed over the same MIDI port A as well? The answer to it will tell me whether a single bluetooth MIDI client would work 16channel multitimbrally (simply by just opening MIDI port A) including the keyboard performance parts. Btw. Your answers are highly appreciated, thanks!
  11. Excellent video(s) btw. My question is how would one go about switching/managing songs with song-specific samples? My hunch (based on the video) is that the melody and drum- sampleplayer are global, so they won't be saved with the registration (iirc elsewhere on this forum I've ready that registrations can be saved to usb). Perhaps one should save a song as midifile (named 'songfoo.mid') along with exporting the wav-file 'songfoo-melody.wav' and 'songfoo-drum-1.wav' and so on? Or is there perhaps a way to have the casio autoslice a 'songfoo-drum.wav' (with multiple drums in them) in a reproducable way?
  12. Hi, the website seems offline :C. Any chance to have it back, or some way to run it locally?
  13. This topic was solved by Brad and Mclandy thanks to you both. Yours Chris.
  14. With home organs there are highend and household models. Things like Wersi Helios or Farfisa Maharani likely still find buyers, while a lowend Bontempi B370 (possibly even some Yamahas) gets scrapped. In a TV report they even smashed a >100 year old antique harmonium to pieces in a so-called "anger room" because nobody wanted it (the thing was pretty with lyra ornament, but had only 3 registers which made it unsellable).

  16. To be clear, CC11 Expression is a specific MIDI controller message, and it is not supported by the SP-32 pedal unit. SP-32 supports damper, soft, and sostenuto functions. Half damper operation is supported. PX-330 interprets SP-32 damper pedal operation in 3 levels of resolution (on, off, halfway). PX-330 does not interpret the SP-32 pedal unit as a continuous controller, which is what is required for smooth CC11 Expression operation. You will need a standalone USB MIDI expression pedal solution or another USB MIDI keyboard with expression pedal support. PX-560 was designed to support expression pedals.
  17. As I described in the post, I'm using the SP-32 (33?) triple pedal unit. How do I get the values to change smoothly for the sustaining (in my case it becomes CC11)?
  18. To be clear, PX-330 does not support expression pedals. It supports standard switch type pedals (sustain or soft/sostenuto) or the Casio SP-33 triple pedal unit. PX-330 does not have any firmware updates. PX-560 firmware update is only compatible with the PX-560.
  19. Hello! I'm trying to figure out a problem with MIDI expression pedal messaging (CASIO SP-32 three pedals) with CASIO PX-330 into my Macbook. The problem is that when the pedal is pressed, the volume jumps (too sharp a step) from 0% to 100% even with minimal pedal pressure. If you set the track to 50% volume (dynamics of playing strings) and press the pedal, the increase goes smoothly up to 100%, but when you release the pedal it goes back to 0... and then 0-100% when you press again. Connection sequence: 1. I connect the PX-330 with 3 CASIO SP-32 expression pedals with a USB cable to my computer. 2. I turn on Logic X, add a pedal signal converter VST (step 3) and a orchestra VST (BBC Symphony Orchestra free) to a new track. 3. In the converter I select the incoming signal of one of the 3 pedals, for example, 66 Sostenuto and convert it to CC11 Expression. See screen: Tried different values of Scale and Add scales - makes little difference. 4. I try to play some melody with the pedal and hear the volume jumping jerkily 😊 For some reason I also can't use Learn mode on this or that control in an orchestral or other VST plugin - it just doesn't learn ðŸĪ” ... so I have to convert the signal with modifier. Possible solutions: 1) In a neighboring forum thread about the same problem on the PX-560, users eventually write that updating the firmware solved this issue: But I don't see where to download the update for the PX-330 and whether it solves my problem. And many people write that the update can damage the device board (Please Wait mode) and I'm afraid to get a brick instead of a device. 2) Another one of the solutions I found in the vastness of internet forums is to buy an Ashby Solutions FC7 adapter: https://www.logicprohelp.com/forums/topic/65084-expression-pedal-volume-jump/ First, as I understand it, the FC7 adapter uses a 6.3 jack, but my SP-32 triple pedal uses its own plug to connect. So, you have to use an additional pedal via the 6.3 jack. Second, the Ashby Solutions FC7 adapter is no longer in production (or made in pieces on request), as the manufacturer itself notified back in 2021: https://forums.musicplayer.com/topic/180605-does-anyone-still-use-the-ashby-solutions-adapter/ What can be done here to solve this problem?
  20. this its the same cable with i used since at 10 years in my WK3000. i follow you recomendation and try firts with windows 8 in one tablet for test the IDE-2 again. also use Win 7. Thanks
  21. The cable may be faulty. Try it with Win7 or XP again. If it's still working with those, then a driver issue is more likely. The cable itself requires a driver, not the keyboard. Keyboards without USB or other computer interface ports do not use drivers.
  22. i have this special cable usb to midi din for connect my Casio WK3000 keyboard to pc; at 2015 working with WindowsXP and Windows7, but now with Windows10 dont working. already try with 3 laptops and all show the same error: "MIDI Timeout"
  23. Hello, i have the same problem with Windows10. i supose that windows update all drivers and damage the old program old USB_Midi _Pin driver I try install the old IDE for Wk3000, i used Archive.org for download these old program. wk3-20en.exe
  24. Hello OK, I usually don't post new music pieces with such a short time interval between them, but I hope it works out Here is Johann Pachelbel's Canon or just Canon in D. Instrumentation: Chords - Casio MT-400V Cosmic Tone with waw filter effect "Bass" - Casio CT-370 Elec Piano Drums - Casio CT-370 Multi-Split Percussion Melody - Casio CT-370 Vibraphone It is not perfect, but for a quick one-shot recording (more or less) I think it is ok 😄 I just added some reverb to the audio - that's all. Jay ðŸŽđ
  25. Thanks to Brad and Mclandy for taking their time to help me with this problem.I tried both of your suggestions and they have got me the sound I was after so thanks once again for your help .Chris.ðŸĪŠ.
