  1. It is not possible to record from external MIDI sources. A computer can however, which creates a standard MIDI file.
  2. The LK-S450 can play standard MIDI files stored in the MUSICDAT folder of a USB flash drive connected to the keyboard. MIDI files stored on the flash drive are assigned number 369 and higher. Press the SONG button to access them. These MIDI files can also be loaded into keyboard memory. Use the MENU>MEDIA>SONG>>USER SONG>LOAD function. Keyboard storage capacity is 200 songs, stored in the song bank as numbers 161-360.
  3. Well, that's sadness. The top panel is a painted plastic, a subtle metallic pearl type paint. I wonder if there's a product out there for restoring yellowed plastics like this.
  4. Click the download button. They are there.
  5. Only CTX tones are compatible. The sound architecture is different among different series of keyboards.
  6. I didn't edit the tones at all. Everything is default.
  7. 560 has the same preset piano tones as the 5S. CTX was the first demo, PX second. The demo was done by the same MIDI file played back on both models. I recorded the file myself.
  8. Yes it's the first tone on each model. Stage Piano on CTX, Grand Piano Concert on the PX-5S.
  9. Your file shows random characters regardless of DSP on my MZ. If I rename your file from "80s pad" to "80s Pad" it displays correctly. I am unable to replicate the behavior of your tone names on my MZ with my own tones. Very unusual. Regardless, it is not a DSP indicator. It's gibberish text.
  10. DSP in the CTX series is great. Two main improvements are the ability to use more DSP effects at once, and the addition of a large selection of guitar amp simulation effects. As far as downloads, if you are on a computer browser, you'll see a "downloads" button on the navigation bar near the top of the home page. This takes you to a page of categories. For Mike's sounds, go to Casio official. CTX is under "others". For those made by users, go to the "community created" section. My sounds are there. Regarding the CTX PX piano demo, both used the very first preset tone for each model. That would be Stage Piano on CTX.
  11. Where did you get that tone from? Was it made with older firmware or sample manager?
  12. I took care of it. Moved the jack conversation to the existing thread by @Francus. The review is here for now. I'm not sure the best way to move the Bluetooth audio topic.
  13. Nothing is wrong with a CT-X5000. Most of the sounds are as good or better than the PX-560, especially if you use auto accompaniment. Drum samples are improved on the CTX. The PX-560 has the AiR sound source which features the acoustic resonator simulator for piano tones, upgraded piano samples and the addition of the hex layer synth section. As far as plastic construction, both instruments use plastic, but the PX adds a metal counterweight system to create the graded hammer action. Since you mentioned "wood" in regards to the keys, the PX-S5000, 6000 or 7000 has real wood as part of keys, and they are made from resin instead of plastic, but these are entirely different designs compared to the PX-560.
  14. I see three different topics in this single thread. I would like to see this split up into their own topics... 1. The original topic, the title of this thread. 2. Review of the PX-S5000 3. Question about Bluetooth audio on the S5000. (Yes it can do that by the way)
  15. Unfortunately the S1000 doesn't have a user EQ system.
  16. Thanks for your feedback. It would be great if that could be added without taking away features. The future is wide open, so anything is possible. I would like to point out your PX-S1000 has a stereo mini jack audio input for connecting to the headphone/line output of a computer to the piano for monitoring. Analog inputs are compatible with a wide range of gear new and old alike.
  17. A limited list of keyboard models were developed with data editor software in mind. Only the models listed on the following download page are compatible with the software. All other models are not compatible. https://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=20
  18. No new versions have been released. None are expected.
  19. Welcome to the forums Peggy. Sorry to hear the pedals are acting up. I don't have any experience with that model, but I can point you to a topic here on the forums regarding the pedal assembly on the AP-450 here. I hope that helps.
  20. That's the tone name, not DSP indicator. Where did you get that tone from? Was it made with older firmware or sample manager? Did you try renaming the tone to update the name?
  21. It sounds like everything is working normally. As with any phono type plug, size and shape of the plugs found on pedals and cords may vary slightly. Some will click more than others. I wouldn't worry.
