Wingedspur
Considering buying a PX-560. I currently own a PX-5S and a Hammond SK1, which I use for gigging with bands. I also picked up a CTK-6250 which I have been using with a duo, taking advantage of the rhythm capability. I like the Registration concept because I can reuse the same registration for multiple songs just by toggling Split and Layer and setting a different rhythm and/or tempo as desired. But I find the sound quality and of course the keybed less desirable on the CTK vs the PS-5S. From online demos and such, it seems like the PX-560 is like a PX-5S sound-wise, but with a “registration” UI, drum machine, and speakers added. Is that about right? Also, are the organ sounds available for PX-560 any better than those for PX-5S? I would like to be able to go to a 1-keyboard solution for everything. Brad Saucier
Organ sounds are similar. Here's a good comparison between PX-560 and PX-5S... https://casiomusicgear.wordpress.com/2016/01/11/the-definitive-px-5s-vs-px-560-comparison/
Jokeyman123
I miss organ drawbars for varying stops with the 560, although an expression pedal connected helps for dramatic effects. Picked up a Ferrofish for the drawbar engine midi'd to the 560. If i had to bring the 560 to many gigs, i would probably not want the speakers which might be vulnerable to all kinds of stuff in a gigging environment although these are pretty well protected by the case design. Hex layers, programmability and ability to work up full arrangements without a DAW in the 560, plus all the programming features of a synth definitely ticked alot of boxes for me, just shy of a workstation. Hard call and since I'm using it mostly at home, the 560 felt more appropriate.
AndrewL
It depends on what's your "everything". I'll quote what I wrote in my small review of the keyboard here: Quote When you think about digital pianos, stage pianos, synthesizers or arrangers, this model is of course not the best of any of those. BUT, and this is a huge but, it's incredibly capable in all of those categories and for a very competitive price. And the big color touch screen is the icing on the cake. I don’t think you can get this much for this price with any other brand.
