Chas
Hey all, I've uploaded the first two episodes of a video series where I take a look at those vintage Casio calculators from the turn of the 80s, specifically the musical, gaming and talking models. Enjoy!
pianokeyjoe
I saw both and loved them! LOL! The calculator watch! Oh I remember what a blessing those were when having to cheat on math class lol!
Jokeyman123
I still have my Casio calculator watch. One thing I wish I had kept-how about a video on the cassiopeia hand-held pocket PC's? I had several, with those great color screens, decades before the color touchscreens on the MZ and PX series. These were the best of the pocket PC's IMO. I had the E-125 and E-115 and i think a BE-300. Should have held onto those but then came smartphones, ah well.
Chas
Cheers guys, glad you liked the latest video series! Five more episodes to come! @Jokeyman123 - I might have to look into the Cassiopeia pocket PCs at some point, though the primary focus in this series was on the bargain priced musical calculators from that classic early to mid 80s time period. I'm already backed up with loads of other projects, so investigating yet more Casio products may have to wait a bit!

In this episode I take a look at the 1980 MG-880 model, a calculator that not only plays music, but also has a built in "Invaders" number game! Enjoy!
Brad Saucier
Well gee wizz. What will they think of next? I wouldn't be surprised if they invented a singing keyboard one day. 2

CYBERYOGI =CO=Windler
I collect Casio music/sound calculators and have analyzed the hardware (CPU pinout, keyboard matrix, test mode) of most of them. Interesting is that the Casio VL-Tone VL-1 CPU runs on 3V (other keyboards need 5) because it was closely related to calculator hardware and also used in the VL-80 musical calculator.
Chas
Hey everyone, Here's Part 5 of my Crazy Casio Calculators series. In this episode I take a look at the elegant looking 1980 ML-90 model, and with its multi melodies available, it's likely the world's first "jukebox" calculator! Enjoy! CYBERYOGI =CO=Windler
I wrote here about the hardware and melodies of Casio musical calculators: https://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/topic/11993-vl-1german-folk-song-mystery-fake-unterlanders-heimweh/#comment-44598

The Casio SA-60 had a few sing samples, and nowadays there is the CT-S1000V.
